Derfla wine tent

Every September, Uherské Hradiště hosts the Slovácké slavnosti vína, the biggest wine festival in the region.

Masarykovo náměstí fills with people, music and wine from all over the region. And we are right in the thick of it, with our wines from Derfla and the wider Slovácko.

What you’ll find at our tent

We pour our own wines from Sady plus a selection from other Slovácko winemakers. Buy your favourite bottles right on the spot while they last, they sell out gradually. And if you’d like more from one of our Derfla winemakers, order a case on Saturday and collect it from us at the tent on Sunday.

We have tables and benches in the tent, so you’ll sit dry even in the rain, but certainly not high and dry. Music and a good mood are taken care of across the festival.

Come on Friday

We open the tent on Friday afternoon, the day before the main programme. Friday is the warm-up for Saturday: the square is still half empty and you can taste the Slovácko wines in peace. A good time to come if you don’t fancy the big crowds or want to start early.

Common questions

Is there an entry fee for the tent?
Our tent is freely accessible, and we are part of the Slovácké slavnosti vína, which is also free to enter. You then pay only for what you taste, in cash right at the tent. There are plenty of ATMs in the centre.
Do I need my own glass?
You don’t. Buy a glass from us, or bring your own, it just needs a fill line at 1 dl, which is the measure we pour.
Is it just your own wines, or others too?
Both. We pour our own wines from Sady plus selected wines from other Slovácko winemakers, so there’s plenty to choose from. Each year we have around 40 different samples.
Is there seating and live music?
Yes to both. Right in the tent we have tables and benches, so you sit dry even if it rains. The tent is step-free and accessible. Music and a good mood are well taken care of across the festival.
Is there anything to eat?
We prepare homemade smoked meats to nibble with the wine. Our staff will tell you what’s on that day.
Are children and dogs welcome?
During the day the mood is family-friendly and children are welcome. In the evening it gets lively and it’s no longer ideal for kids, though that’s for parents to judge. A dog is no problem, but bear in mind a packed, loud square can be quite stressful for an animal.
What are the opening hours?
Friday 16:00 to 1:00, Saturday 9:00 to 1:00, Sunday 9:00 to 17:00. Take the closing times with a pinch of salt: as long as the fun keeps flowing in the tent, we stay open.
Where exactly is the tent?
On Masarykovo náměstí in the centre of Uherské Hradiště, right in the thick of the festival. We’re the biggest tent on the square, you can’t miss it. Exact spot on Google Maps or Mapy.cz.
What else is happening at the festival?
Plenty. Our tent is just one small part of the big festival. You’ll find the programme, a site map and more on the official festival website.
Where can I find you otherwise, outside the festival?
We’ll gladly welcome you in Sady. In May the Derfla open cellars and in November the Derfla young wines. At both we’re right by the cellars.
