Vinaři Sady is a registered association (z.s.), a non-profit organisation. Most of us make wine mainly for the joy of it and for our own use. The association gives us a way to meet, push each other forward in growing grapes, making wine and tasting it properly, and put on the events we invite you to.
This website, www.vinarisady.cz, is the official website of Vinaři SADY z.s., company ID (IČO) 66610427, registered at the Regional Court in Brno, file no. L 6771. The association is a non-profit organisation; it makes no profit for its members, and any surplus goes back into running the events and supporting winemaking in Sady.
The association since 1998
Vinaři SADY z.s. was founded on 21 May 1998, back then as a civic association. We have been on the register of associations at the Regional Court in Brno since 1 January 2014, file no. L 6771, and under our present name since February 2016. Josef Medek has been our chairman since January 2020, and our registered seat is Solná cesta 309 in Sady. Our purpose, as it stands in the register: to create the conditions for events that are affordable, varied and expertly run, connected with winemaking, winegrowing and tourism.
What we do
We have run Derflanské otevřené sklepy since 2017. It is a spring walk from cellar to cellar across Sady, it brings in 150 to 300 people, and seven home cellars and gardens open their gates for it. In November we pour Derflanská mladá vína in the cellars and in our gardens. In September we put up the Derflanský vinný stan at the Slovácké slavnosti vína in Uherské Hradiště, the biggest wine event in the region, and wines from other Slovácko winemakers are poured there alongside ours.
On top of our own three, there is Derflanské zpívání na schodech: the men’s choir Mužský sbor JMF Derfla organises it, we co-host it and pour our wine there. Entry is free, and the voluntary donations go towards the next year.
Why we do it
We want to create events where people meet, talk, rest and slow down. For us, that is what matters most. We also care about keeping winemaking in Sady alive, as a natural part of the local culture and traditions it has always belonged to.
How we are funded
The samples at the events are paid directly to each winemaker. The association runs on membership fees and the entry fee, and all the money taken goes straight back into organising and promoting the events.
Grants and working together
As a non-profit, we can apply for grants and funding programmes. For now we run on our own. When we work with a partner on an event, we say so and thank them here and at the event itself.
